Call for Proposals

We are seeking proposals for the 2024 Virtual Conference

Proposals related to science/mathematics education or teacher education from early childhood through the university level, including informal science and environmental education are welcome. Click here to download a pdf of the call.

Presentation Formats

This year, we will feature three presentation options:

  • Option 1: In-Progress Research Roundtables (Synchronous) New for 2024! The In-Progress Research Roundtables will feature a synchronous presentation and discussion for attendees to talk about their in-progress research. Accepted proposals will be placed into groups, and each presenter will have 15 minutes to present, with built-in time for conversation. This option is great for individuals who are looking for feedback and insight from ICRSME friends about research studies in development and thesis/dissertation proposals. We highly recommend you submit your in-progress research for this year’s virtual conference.
  • Option 2: Research/Pedagogy Roundtables (Synchronous) The Research/Pedagogy Roundtables will include several presenters sharing their research and/or pedagogical approaches. Each presenter will have 15 minutes to share their work. After all presentations are finished, there will be a facilitated discussion with session attendees.
  • Option 3: Research/Pedagogy Presentations and Posters (Asynchronous with Synchronous Community Chat) The asynchronous format for research presentations and posters will allow presenters to share their research or pedagogical approaches using presentation software (with or without a pre-recorded audio/video). Presentations can be in a variety of formats including multiple slides, a single-slide poster, or video. New for 2024: All asynchronous presenters and session attendees will be invited to participate in synchronous “community chats” to talk with ICRSME friends about their work.

Proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  1. The proposed presentation connects to science/mathematics/STEM education or teacher education
  2. Research/pedagogy content is explicitly described
  3. The outcomes for the proposed presentation are clearly outlined

The deadline to submit a proposal is October 15, 2023

Decisions will be sent out in early December, and all presenters will need to register for the conference. Please email icrsme.consultation@gmail.com with any questions or concerns.
